The name Celide has been part of the city of Lucca for over 100 years.
“Celide” was the name of the woman who, in the early 1900s, opened a small shop in front of Lucca’s city walls.
Over the years, that shop evolved, first into a café, then a restaurant, and finally a hotel.
The hotel was born from the intuition of Mrs. Celide’s son, Roberto Cesaretti. Roberto can truly be considered a pioneering and forward-thinking entrepreneur: attentive to the evolving habits of a society that was beginning to travel for business or leisure, in the 1960s he decided, together with his wife Rita, to open one of the first hotels in Lucca in the villa facing the city walls — a 1915 property built in the traditional Lucchese style.
In the 1970s, the hotel was expanded: the new wing was built in the large garden surrounding the villa.
The name Celide has remained unchanged, and the descendants continue to run the business with dedication and a deep commitment to the quality of hospitality.
For over 60 years, every day, we have been caring for our guests with genuine passion. Attentive consideration for each guest is, for us, an indispensable value.
At Albergo Celide, you will always find a warm and welcoming atmosphere, designed to make you feel at home.
The ideas of hospitality and familiarity are also reflected in our logo, represented by the stylized figure of the “Chiocciola” (Snail): a symbol of family tradition as well as modernity.
